This past weekend we invited our friends over to a 24 themed 24th birthday party. This coming Thursday is Declan’s birthday and Friday is Erica’s – yes our birthdays are a day apart (actually only 15 hours apart). We’ve gone over this before right?
Anyway, we made CTU badges for all of our friends and issued them a squirt gun filled with “water.”
However, the highlight of the evening was the drink we made for the party – Pineapple, Ginger Ale and Vodka drink. Not the most creative name, we know; we even tested out “Pinegingerodka” but it didn’t really stick. In the end, we settled on just abbreviating it P.G.A.V.
Back on New Year’s Eve we went to our friend Nick’s house and made the P.G.A.V. drink for the first time. It was such a hit that we decided to make it again for our birthday party. It can be really dangerous though. It’s so tasty you don’t even realize how much alcohol is in it! With great power comes great responsibility.
It is possible to make this in a smaller batch (see recipe notes below) but since it’s way easier to make a big batch (and leads to more fun) why not! Here is everything that you will need:
First you are going to need a container that can hold at least 5.5 liters of liquid. This is the one we bought from Target and has served us well:
Next dump in some ice (we used two ice cube tray’s worth). Then pour in a 2 liter bottle of ginger ale, 2 quart carton of real pineapple juice, and a fifth of vodka. Give this a stir with a large spoon. Add in some orange slices and chunks of real ginger for some extra zest!
Serve and enjoy!
P.S. – We didn’t even have time to take a picture of the final product since it was guzzled up so quickly!
- 2 quarts pineapple juice
- 2 liters ginger ale
- 1 fifth of vodka
- 2 oranges sliced
- 1 stalk ginger cubed
- Mix all of the ingredients in a large (> 5.5 liter) container.
- Serve and enjoy responsibly!
In a shaker, mix 2 shots of vodka with 3 shots pineapple juice and 3 shots of ginger ale. Pour into a glass and top with an orange slice.
