This past weekend we both moved out of our old apartment and into a small townhome with our very good friend Mike. Saying it was an upgrade is an understatement. We are so excited about our new place and of course, our new kitchen. As you can see from the photos, the new kitchen is much smaller than the previous. However, there are many more positives.
One, more counter space including space next to the stove (we didn’t have that before). Plus, the kitchen doesn’t have to double as a dining room since we now have a dining room (Sorry for the mess, we haven’t finished unpacking yet).
Two, tons and we mean tons of cabinet space. We are still trying to figure out what to do with all of the space since before we only had 3 cabinets. We’re thinking about sub-leasing some of the space to cut down on our rent. Any takers?
Three, we now have new appliances. Well they’re newer than what we had, and are probably less than 5 years old. Newer appliances such as our stove and oven mean better cooked meals since they are cooking at the proper temperatures.
We are telling you all these things because this is what you should be looking for when you are searching for a new apartment for yourself. The kitchen should be your number one priority so keep your eyes peeled.
Also, now that we have a housemate to cook with, yes with not for, we are going to add a section to the blog devoted to him where he can give his take on the meals we cook together. We are so happy to be living with Mike who admits that cooking is not his forte, instead he is a master of the grill and we look forward to learning from him.
We haven’t had a chance to cook yet in the new kitchen but as soon as we do, expect a post on our latest adventure!
