The main reason for this post it to let you know that we renamed our blog and bought our own domain name! As you can see, our blog is no longer “Declan and Erica Cook” but rather “Cooking in College.” We needed a name and URL that reflected what we love to blog about: cooking but more specifically cooking in college.
Our mission when we began was to reach out to college kids who fear the kitchen and show them that cooking isn’t as hard as they think it is. So far, we’ve posted recipes that can all be done in one pan or what we like to call them “One-dish-meals” and call for basic (yet essential) cooking skills such as chopping, sautéing, boiling, etc. We hope that you are learning fast because we will begin to post recipes that call for more than one of these skills (and pans!).
We’ve also bought a new camera to take better pictures of our food (the cameras on our phones just weren’t cutting it). So hopefully our food will look prettier and yummy-licious now. We’re not photographers but we’ve been getting a lot of tips from our good friend.
Also, we would love to hear from you more. How are we doing? Are our recipes too hard, too easy? Should we explain things better? Or are we on the right track? We’d love to hear your feedback, you can always shoot us an email at our new email address firstname.lastname@example.org or send us a tweet at @DECL4NW or @flinchy49.
If you really like what we’ve been doing, please pass us around. Share us on facebook, tweet about us, digg us, email us, or whatever you prefer to do on the interwebs. We want to reach out to as many college kids as possible. We want to open up conversation about eating healthy. We want to learn and to grow and improve our cooking skills along the way. And we need your help to spread the word (and would really appreciate it!).
